EAU CLAIRE, WIS., NATIVE AWARDED FULBRIGHT FULL GRANT TO COLUMBIA
St. Paul, MN - Beth C. Neitzel, an Eau Claire, Wis., native and
2003 Macalester College graduate, has been awarded a Fulbright
Full Grant to Colombia. Neitzel is the daughter of Gwen Neitzel
of Weyerhaeuser, Wis., and Doug Neitzel.
Fulbright Grants and other grants for graduate study abroad are
administered by the Institute of International Education. This
group of scholarships is awarded with the cooperation of the Department
of State, foreign governments and private donors for study in
some 140 countries of the world. Approximately 958 grants will
be given this year to candidates who hold at least the B.A. degree
and who may not yet have received the Ph.D. Proficiency in the
language of the host country is usually required.
Macalester College, founded in 1874, is a national liberal arts
college with a full-time enrollment of 1,795 students. Macalester
is nationally recognized for its long-standing commitment to academic
excellence, internationalism, diversity, and service to society.
