At the end of the last century, Americans discussed family values
and whether children were best raised by traditional households
or by "a village." The Family (re)Union Project is an
inquiry into "family" and "values."
Created by 10 Macalester student/actors and guest artists, the
project tells their personal stories gathered in part by interviewing
family members, visiting Habitat for Humanity, AIDS patients and
a local day care facility. The topics covered in the presentation
include "Early Childhood Memories," "Told in a
Parent's Voice," "Medical Madness," "Pets,"
"Family Strife" and "Religion."
This is a "(re)union" of hearts, told through stories,
pictures and music.
Funds provided by the Center for Scholarship and Teaching at
Macalester College.
Macalester is a private liberal arts college with a full-time
enrollment of 1,851 students. Macalester is nationally recognized
for its commitment to academic excellence, internationalism, diversity
