Macalester Faculty Member Honored at Hendrix College
St. Paul, Minn. - Calvin J. Roetzel, the Arnold H. Lowe Professor
and a member of Macalester College's Religious Studies Department,
was recently honored at Hendrix College with a distinguished alumnus
award. Roetzel received a bachelor's degree from Hendrix College
with honors in 1952.
Roetzel teaches Biblical studies and Christian origins at Macalester.
He is the author of numerous books and scholarly articles and
has lectured nationally and internationally. His book, His Paul:
The Man and the Myth, was selected by the Biblical Archaeology
Society as "Best Popular Book Relating to the New Testament,
1997-1998."
Hendrix College, located in Conway, Ark., and founded in 1876,
is a residential, undergraduate liberal arts college with an enrollment
of about 1,100.
Macalester College is a private liberal arts college with a full-time
enrollment of 1,851 students. Macalester is nationally recognized
