Noted Economist to speak at Macalester

Basu, the C. Marks professor of International Studies,
professor of economics, and director of the Program on Comparative
Economics Development at Cornell University, will deliver a lecture
titled, "Globalization and Labor Standards."
Currently researching the economics of child labor and the social
and political foundations of economics, Basu has held visiting
appointments at Princeton University, the University of Stockholm
and the London School of Economics. He has authored or co-authored
numerous books and nearly 100 scholarly articles.
Macalester is a private liberal arts college with a full-time
