St. Paul, Minn. - Macalester College Theater and Dance Department
presents Elizabeth Swados' "Runaways - The Musical,"

Avenue, St. Paul, Minn. Tickets are $10 general admission and
$7 for seniors and groups. Performances are 7:30 p.m., Fri. and
Sat., Nov. 12 and 13, and Thu. - Sat., Nov. 18 -20. There is also
a

Assistant Professor Harry Waters, Jr. directs.
Elizabeth Swados' book is based on interviews and workshops with
homeless teenagers who tell what it's like to live on the streets
of New York. Connecting to the current proliferation of homeless
teens, Macalester's production is a 21st Century take on the still
relevant stories of youth on the edge.
Waters is teaching "Acting Theory/Performance II" this
fall and will teach "Community-Based Theatre" this spring.
Macalester is a private, national liberal arts college with a
full-time enrollment of 1,845 students. Macalester is nationally
recognized for its long-standing commitment to academic excellence,
internationalism, diversity and civic engagement.
