Four College Choirs to Perform
in the
Annual Macalester Music Department Choirs' Concert
Saturday, December 4, 2004, 8:00 pm
St. Paul, Minn. - Robert Peterson, a member of the Macalester
College Music Department faculty since 1998, will be conducting
works by Bach, Barber, Brahms, Palestrina, Lauridsen and others
as he makes his debut as director of choral activities at the
annual choirs' concert, 8 pm, Saturday, December 4, 2004. Marjorie
Merryman, Harry M. Drake Distinguished Professor in the Humanities
and Fine Arts and Music Department chair, will direct the Women's
Chorus. The concert is in the Concert Hall, Janet Wallace Fine
Arts Center, 1600 Grand Avenue, St. Paul, Minn. Tickets are $5
for adults and $3 for students.
Participating choirs and soloists include the Macalester Choir,
MAC Singers, Women's Choir, Men's Chorus, Elizabeth Everson and
Nick Nolte. Brahms' Liebeslieder Waltzes will be featured.
Peterson was the director of choral activities at Edina Senior
High School in Minnesota for over 20 years and has also taught
at the University of Minnesota and American high schools in Munich,
Brussels and Tokyo.
