Michael E. Sneed Named to Macalester’s Board

Michael SneedSt. Paul, Minn. – Michael E. Sneed, Company Group Chairman, Johnson & Johnson, with responsibility for Vision Care, Inc., has been named to the Board of Trustees at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn., to serve four, three-year consecutive terms.

Sneed received his B.A. from Macalester in 1981 and his Master’s in Business Administration from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College in 1983.  He started his career with Johnson & Johnson companies shortly thereafter.

Johnson & Johnson, through its operating companies, is the world's most comprehensive and broadly based manufacturer of health care products, as well as a provider of related services, for the consumer, pharmaceutical, and medical devices and diagnostics markets. The more than 250 Johnson & Johnson operating companies employ approximately 121,000 men and women in 57 countries and sell products throughout the world.

Sneed is responsible for the global Vision Care franchise of Johnson & Johnson. Prior to his current assignment, he was Company Group Chairman with responsibility for the Johnson & Johnson Consumer business in North America. He has also been Worldwide President of McNeil Nutritionals, LLC, another Johnson & Johnson affiliate, with responsibility for the company's nutritional brands in the U.S. and Europe.

Sneed serves on the board of the Family Service Association of Bucks County, Pa.  At Macalester, he served on the Alumni Board and was the chair of the board's development committee.

Macalester College, founded in 1874, is a national liberal arts college with a full-time enrollment of 1,884 students. Macalester is nationally recognized for its long-standing commitment to academic excellence, internationalism, multiculturalism and civic engagement
