Omrit, Summer 2006
This year marks the eighth season of the Macalester excavations at Omrit in northern Israel. The site is licensed to Macalester College and Professor Andrew Overman, Classics department. The project is supported by Macalester and by individual donors. The Macalester group numbers 45 students and staff. The Omrit site was discovered in 1998 by Professor Andy Overman after a fire burned much of the Mt. Hermon region.

January in Istanbul
In January 2006, the Macalester Classics Department studied in Turkey with 30 students and four faculty from January 5 to January 20. The group went to Istanbul to study Byzantine and Ottoman history.
