Position: Music/Other Director
Job description:
Music Directors
Processing all incoming music in your genre,
deciding what the
station should keep and reviewing music promptly
Maintaining written and verbal correspondence with company
reps, providing information to record reps about the status of their product.
Acting as contact and supervisor for the DJs within your genre.
Selecting shows from applications in your genre each semester
Other general staff duties (eg attending staff meetings every other
week, committees, working in the station for a couple of hours
every
week.) This position requires at least
three hour per week
plus a radio
show.
Other Directors
The Promotion Manager positions require a slightly different type of work but will take up as much time as a director position. As
promotion manager you will either be responsible for advertisements on campus, outside of campus or contacting clubs and venues for concert tickets.
The Development Manager position will take up as much time as a director position. As Development manager you will be responsible for working with expanding the role of WMCN and find new ways in which the station can develop, as well as putting together a weekly newsletter about what is happening at WMCN for other campus programs, academic departments, DJs, staff, and alumni.
