This is the first floor bathroom. As you can see, some of the ceiling
had fallen into the tub below.
|

Also note the lack of sink or toilet.

This is the view of the dining room while standing
in the living room on the first floor. Lovely wall and ceiling isn't
it.
|

This is the living room. It is hard to tell but there is a carpet on
the floor that when we pulled up found out that the padding had somehow melted
into the wood floor. My mom took on that task with an ice chopper.
You know, that tool that you use to break up the ice on your sidewalk.
Yah, that tool.

NOW WE MOVE UP TO THE SECOND FLOOR... ARE YOU READY?
|
|

This is the wonderful bathroom. As you can see at the end of
it isa sunken three foot, BRIGHT ORANGE soaking tub. You might
think thatit would be a nice feature but there is no way that you
could fit more thanone person in there and it really felt like you
were in a stew-pot more thananything. To find out the fate of
this tub, click

I know this is not the highest quality photo but it gives you and idea of
how the owner that did the previous renovation raised the floor in the bathroom
to accommodate this crazy tub.
|

In case you were wondering, the tub REALLY WAS ORANGE.
|

Oh, did I mention the wall of mirrors.
|

How about the 10 inch raised floor that came out into the dining room.
All those kitchen appliances, those are where they were when I bought the
house. Lovely eh? Also, I cannot believe that we do not have any
pictures of this but under that gross brow shag carpet (which was stilldamp
from whatever pet lived here before us when we tore it up) was a half-inch
to five inches of lightweight concrete poured over the entire floor.
We think the remodeller did this to level out the floor. Well we busted
that up and heaved it out the window into the dumpster below.
|

And of course, what
American Four-Square would be complete without a vaulted ceiling anda
Californian loft on the third floor?!?!?!
