Exams

1. Midterm exam on Oct 19 (material from first part of course, covered by that date)
2. Final exam on Tuesday, December 18 at 10:30-12:30 in our usual classroom (material from second part of course ONLY, i.e. material covered since midterm exams)

   Both exams will consist of three sections:

   • short answer part--factual questions
   • paragraph-size answer part--definitions of concepts & ideas
   • essay-size part--in-depth analysis of textual passages for literary/cultural ideas and their expression as well as their context
