Russ was born on May 16, 1980 as a birthday gift for his father.  His permanent address is in Brooklyn Park, MN with his parents, one brother, and two sisters.  He has completed three years at Mac and his major is biology with an added emphasis in biochemistry/molecular biology, and also will have a core is chemistry.  He is planning to attend Northwestern College of Chiropractic in the fall of 2002.

His hobbies include: watching sports, especially hockey, football, baseball, and basketball, reading, the outdoors, and watching movies.
His opinions about Minnesota teams include: the Vikings trading Randy Moss for a great defensive lineman and a great corner, or lock him up soon.  Well, we can check that one off.  The Twins should trade for Vladimir Guerreo, Adraes Galarraga, or Jeff Conine.  Galarraga and Conine I don't think we need, but he would like to see Sterling Hitchcock.  Now that the Wild can't get get Jarmoir Jagr, they should pick up Brett Hull, or get Mike Modano back.  Also, the Timberwolves, who desperately need help at center, better find a way to keep Loren Woods.  At the very least, maybe he'll light the fire under Rasho's behind to get consistant.  And now that we've signed Joe Smith (maybe), then maybe he'll start at center.
Current movies he has seen include Pearl Harbor, and The Mummy Returns.  His thoughts were that Pearl Harbor was a good movie, though a bit long, and there were too many characters which hindered the development of the three main characters.  It was much more entertaining the second time, though viewing it with Anna had nothing to do with that opinion (hint, hint...).  The Mummy Returns was also a very fun movie. There were many parodies of popular movies including E.T., Star Wars, Dr. Strangelove, True Lies, and a few others.  It was a very entertaining movie that had the audience rolling in the aisles.  Qualms with the movie included the digitized Scorpion King, it was difficult to distinguish exactly who the antagonist was, and the ending makes it difficult to make another squeal, which he would like to see.  Other movies current movies he has seen include Shrek, which was a very entertaining movie with many adult jokes, Tomb Raider, which he may have liked when he was ten, and Moulin Rouge, which although was a musical and a bit wacky, was extremely entertaining.  Among the most recent movie he has attended was Scary Movie 2.  If you liked the first one, you may like the second.  He didn't like the first one and he couldn't muster the energy after a hard day' s work to leave in the middle of the movie.  Thankfully, it was only an hour and twenty minutes long.  He has also seen Swordfish, wihich was preety good, but will need to see it again to write a better opinion on it, and Evolution which was not as funny as it looked.  Julianna Moore was about the only one acting in a clutzy manner, and the rest of the movie seemed to be quasi -serious.  The ending was entertaining, well minus the "Head and Shoulders" part.  Final Fantasy was spectacular from a visual standpoint, though real actors don't have to worry about their jobs yet, as the 'people' moved strangely.  The Score was also an excellent movie with suspense and astonishing acting.  Look for Planet of the Apes and America's Sweethearts to be commented on in the near future.  Finally, as a side note to all theaters, Russ would like to say that stadium seating cannot be beat, and having the option of being able to move the armrests makes his arms infinitely grateful.

Russ is very excited to SCUBA dive in the St. Croix with the Dan Hornbach research group. "It will be nice to work on my tan, bulk up by lifting those buckets of sand, and most importantly of course, help the preservation efforts of the mussels found there."  Since the buff factor (no, not IN the buff!) and tanning are important parts of this job, a graph will be posted to track these aspects.  It will show tanning and muscle tone of Russ in an arbitrary scale.

Me, where I should be while camping... at arms length.

Is this a mussel?  WHAT?!?  Spelling matters?
