Chemistry 61 Fall 2002

Announcements: (12/8/02) Test 3 is graded.  See below for the key and distribution.  I have also estimated grades (not counting the 20% for the final paper).  I'll discuss this in class on Monday.  Please note the criteria for the oral report.

(12/1/02) On Monday 12/2, we will finish our coverage of Chapter 12--X-ray spectroscopy.  We will take a tour of the Science Division's Keck Lab on Wednesday 12/4, and take Test 3 on Thursday 12/5.  Solutions to most of the suggested Unit 3 problems are below.   Please note that attending the Keck Lab tour is mandatory.  I will subtract 5 points from your Test 3 score if you do not attend the tour.  From 12/6 to 12/13, we will hear talks.  (I will lead off describing some of my Ph.D. research on 12/6.)  Here is the schedule of talks.  Attending your classmates' talks is also mandatory.  I will subtract 5 points from your final paper score for each day of talks you miss.

Old announcements are at the bottom of the page.
