a week ago i went to new york. yesterday i got back. here are some things that happened in new york.
- carly toyer, red, and i rode the subway with no pants, which is something i never would have done, but suddenly i am ballsy as shit, so i did. it was really fun and lots of people met up in union square later, where bystanders were surrounded and pressured into removing their pants. i found a video of the pantsless subway ride in turkish!
- red and i went to staten island to go to the boat graveyard, which was awesome, but staten island is hell on earth. there we encountered goths, weirdos creeping under a bridge, the staten island gun club, people peeing all over the place, and a spooky cemetery. the boat graveyard is kind of like a bog, but a REALLY AWESOME BOG. worth the trip!
- we went to philly for the day, which was kinda weird because philly was really gray and nothing was going on, but i like it alright anyway. it was hard to resist the temptation to compare new york and philly, and philly just seemed kind of pathetic in comparison.
- red only wanted to eat candy so i didn't get to go to all the nice vegan restaurants in new york, but i drank a lot of snapple. i guess. had some good bagels, too. falafel isn't nearly as good as burritos so i don't know why every city doesn't catch on and go burrito crazy like san diego has.
- i watched a lot of spike tv in a loft in brooklyn. as ridiculous as it sounds. 100%.
new york was fun and now i just want to like anywhere i live as much as i like new york. unfortunately minnesota's inclement weather makes this almost impossible. just maybe, though.
