this week will mark the end of weekly basketball updates, because the undead WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP. the game was sloppy as shit, and everyone was super nervous, but we won 24 to 12 and after the game jonathan katz put his american flag jacket on me even though i didn't play on account of my sprained ankle. word to all our fans who came out to support us: sadie cox, leigh york, martha coe, rachel wisthuff, david boehnke, abby seeskin, ellie jones, nicole kligerman, bobbi gass, julie gaynin, and ben voigt. i am SO psyched on this year of basketball and we still have to have a pizza party and watch hoosiers, so it's never over. sports talk tuesday 12-2 am on wmcn, listen for the real shit. hopefully we'll have lots of guests talking about all our killer alley oops and shit.
now that basketball is over i don't really know what i can do that will be fulfilling or exciting. i found an ad on craigslist offering up 35 pairs of basketball shorts for $50 and i really want to find people to go in on it with me! could it be you? sure, it totally could. get in touch. i also tried to buy a skateboard on craigslist but some fool in st. cloud jacked up the price and gave me an ultimatum -- bogus, dude.
on friday night, stefan and neil and i went to see modern life is war and holding on. i had never seen modern life is war and spent their whole set standing in the back trying to figure out what about them is off, and i think i figured out that it's something like too much build-up and no plateau. i enjoyed their set though, and even though i definitely didn't have the history to enjoy holding on they were pretty cool too. someone probably stepped on my foot and i'd say everyone there was bummed that i didn't bust out the hard mosh.
on a related tip, i had been making fun of cold world forever, but then i finally jammed ICE GRILLZ, which i thought was really awesome for a couple hours but i realized i just like the sam cooke sample. i still dig rzl dzl though... oh well. still stuck in a weird college world where nothing matters and i only know like three punks. not sure what to do about that. still psyched to go home and go to the che every day for no reason. anyway, yesterday i went to cheapo and got the sharp knife s/t lp and then i was riding my bike back to school in the snow (THE SNOW! i know, right?) and dropped the record in some mud! ugh. oh well, i got most of the mud off the white jacket and the record is pretty cool. i also got the sacred shock demo 7" and it's great. i also got some other records that are cool too and i won the black tambourine - throw aggi off the bridge 7" on ebay today. so gonna win the other one too.
life, whatever, you know? same shit, different day.
