Macalester ranks 16 among liberal arts colleges with a “strong commitment to teaching” and is 13 based on high school counselors who rated colleges according to which “offer the best education to their students.” Macalester ranks 26 overall and 22 for academic reputation among the 233 national liberal arts colleges in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings. The college is 21 for Great Schools, Great Prices and the Best Financial Aid; 17 for international students on campus; and noted for the strength of its study abroad programs.
