Lena was born and raised in Oregon. While teaching comprehensive sexual education at her high school, Lena became particularly interested in HIV/AIDS prevention. In a unique collaboration with the Minnesota Department of Education, the Minnesota Department of Health and the Federation of Alternative Learning Centers in the Twin Cities, Lena will aid in the designing of a summer school class on STIs, HIV/AIDS, sexuality and sexual decision-making.
