Associate Director, Admissions Visits

Weyerhaeuser Hall

She, Her, Hers

Why I chose Admissions and Financial Aid
I thoroughly enjoyed my ten years as a high school teacher in St. Paul public schools and wanted to extend that professional journey.  I often feel like the Admissions process is a huge series of teaching moments…maybe just not in a traditional classroom setting. So Admissions, and lifelong learning, brings out my inner teacher.

Community Involvement
As a college student, I was part of the Adopt-a-Grandparent volunteering program and two outreach programs: Adelante Latina and Un Primer Paso.  Since then I have continued to participate in volunteer opportunities that include tutoring, Spanish translation and social justice. In prior professional roles, I worked with college access and  underrepresented student populations as well as community, equity and inclusion efforts on campus.

Favorite time of the year at Mac
The autumn! Campus beauty and energy is at its peak.

Love about the Twin Cities
I love both Minneapolis and St. Paul, especially that they “play so well together.”  In the span of a week I can visit a neighborhood (or state!) park, take in a concert, walk alongside the Mississippi River, explore new and favorite restaurants and stumble across a craft show at the community center.  A future goal is to join a local civic orchestra and reconnect to my musical roots as a violinist.
