Wildlife Monitoring: Whys and Hows, John B. Davis Lecture Hall
Professor Stotra Chakrabarti, Biology
Professor Chakrabarti will teach the audience about wildlife census techniques and how these methods have been used to expand and champion wildlife conservation, sharing examples of the hands-on field work done by students at Macalester.

Adam, Eve, and What We Inherit, Crawford Hall (Music Building Room 116)
Professor Susanna Drake, Religious Studies
Professor Drake will discuss the first three chapters of Genesis, how it has shaped rabbinic and Christian imagination, and the far-reaching legacy of this biblical text’s ideas about sexual difference, desire, sin, mortality, and free will.

Trash Talk! The Psychology of Garbage, John B. Davis Lecture Hall
Professor Christie Manning, Environmental Studies
Professor Manning argues that “environmental problems” do not exist; they are, in fact, human behavior problems.  This mini-class will introduce some of the psychological factors underlying one specific issue, one that is familiar to each of us: our trash.

Sounding the Starry Vault: Beethoven & Kant’s Sublime, Crawford Hall (Music Building Room 116)
Professor Mark Mazullo, Music
Professor Mazullo will discuss Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 32, the writings of Immanuel Kant, and exploration of the far reaches of the universe in this sample class sure to delight all guests, regardless of prior musical knowledge.

Choose from a campus tour or the “Ask a Mac Student” panel in the John B. Davis Lecture Hall.

2:00 – 2:30 p.m. – Weyerhaeuser Boardroom
Grab a snack, ask lingering questions, and chat with current students and Admissions staff.
