\n<\/b>I followed the advice of a faculty mentor and applied for a job in admissions. What I didn’t realize then, and what keeps me engaged now, is that we who work in Admissions and Financial Aid bring to this work what so many other educators bring to theirs: a belief in young people, in who they are and what they can accomplish. It’s a privilege to be a part, however small, of a student’s journey from high school to college and beyond. <\/span><\/p>\n
\n<\/b>Early in my career at Mac, I served on Macalester’s Staff Advisory Council. I also co-chaired the Minnesota Association for College Admissions Counseling’s Government Relations Committee. More recently, I served on the leadership cycle for the College Board’s Midwest Regional Council. <\/span><\/p>\n
\n<\/b>Favorite time is the noon hour on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays when members of the Mac and Twin Cities communities assemble on center court to mimic the greats: play basketball and build community in the Mac N.B.A.\u2014noontime basketball association. <\/span><\/p>\n
