She received her BFA in studio Art from the Ontario College of Art and Design, and an MFA from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. She has taught at Macalester since 2000, teaching all levels of Painting, including courses on the Figure, Mural Painting and Color Theory and Practice and the Senior Studio Seminar. She has shown her paintings in group and solo exhibitions in the United States and Canada, including solo exhibitions at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts,\u00a0 Phipps Center for the Arts, The Bloomington Arts Center and the Gage Gallery at Augsburg University. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions including \u201cCritical Translations,\u201d at the Katherine E. Nash Gallery, University of Minnesota and \u201cPostcards from the Edge,\u201d an AIDS benefit in New York City. She recently received both a Howard Foundation Fellowship and a Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant. She has attended professional artist residencies at The Banff Arts Center in Alberta, Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Colorado and the Vermont Studio Center.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Willcox received a $30,000 fellowship from the George A. and Eliza Gardner Howard Foundation in Providence, RI. She is one of nine recipients who represent the fields of the History of Art and Architecture, Painting, and Sculpture.
