LSC Critical Dialogue Series: Why Do We Learn?

Join the Lealtad-Suzuki Center for Social Justice on Thursday, April 6th 4:30pm - 6:00pm in Art Commons 102 as we engage in critical dialogue.

The purpose of this series is to help our community build the skills needed to engage with complicated topics and form deeper understanding of foundational critical dialogue principles. This event is open to all members of Macalester communities– students, staff, and faculty.

This month’s topic, “Why Do We Learn?” will address the purpose and realities of academic rigor: what does “rigor” mean? Who gets to determine what constitutes it? Do we need it? Through this, we will discuss what it means to attend an academic institution like Macalester, and, more broadly, the relationship between schooling, education, and elitism.

Please RSVP with this google form. Food will be provided.
