Anthro Tuesday: Spradley and Gerdes Summer Research Grants Projects

Senior Anthropology majors Abby Thomsen and Julia Hirsch will talk about their research grants and their resulting projects.  Abby will discuss her honors project funded by the Spradley Summer Research Fellowship that details a descendant-centered collaborative approach to interpreting archaeological sites at Macalester's Katharine Ordway Natural History Study Area.  Julia received the Center for Study Away's Paul Gerdes Scholarship and researched the importance of French-to-English translation in the multilingual country of Cameroon. In addition to learning about these fascinating projects, this session will be of particular interest to students planning to study away and/or conduct research and want to apply for these grants. Light lunch served at 11:15am, presentations start at 11:30am.
