Big Questions: What will the world look like on Nov. 4?

Location: Macalester community members using the Remo platform.

What will the world look like on Nov. 4?

We can likely all agree that this year’s U.S. election cycle has been brutal. So what does the day after the election look like? Nothing ends with the U.S. presidential election—including perhaps the election itself. As global citizens, how do we prepare for the post-election aftermath, and what steps can we take to repair fragile democracies and start talking to each other again?

Join Adrienne Christiansen, associate professor of political science, and Jane Zimmerman, John and Ruth McGee Director, Dean Rusk International Studies Program at Davidson College, in conversation with President Suzanne Rivera, who brings a bioethicist’s lens to this season’s events. Big Questions events will take place online.

Following the presentation and Q&A, stay online for networking and connection with Macalester community members using the Remo platform.

There are many ways to stay connected to the Macalester community. Learn more about volunteer opportunities and consider making a gift to the Macalester Fund.  The twin pandemics of COVID-19 and ongoing racial injustice have magnified just how much we need Macalester students now. A Macalester education equips students with multifaceted 21st-century skills to tackle complex problems at home and abroad. Making a gift to the Macalester Fund
