Ungrading and Grading Alternatives: Perspectives from Two Trials

Please join the Serie Center for a facilitated discussion of “Ungrading and Grading Alternatives: Perspectives from Two Trials.” A decent number of researchers and educators have questioned the validity of current grading practices in the academia. Sharing some of their concerns, Ahoo Najafian and Amy Damon began to experiment with alternatives and implemented some practices in their classes. In this session, they will discuss why they turned to alternatives to grading, what they learned from the experience, what worked, and what they are going to change.
