Forced Climate Migration in the Americas

Minnesota has been named one of the climate refuges of the future.  Rita Robles will speak about the realities of our changing climate and what it means for migration as we progress in this climate emergency.

Rita Robles has a law degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, where she also studied Political Science and Public Administration. She has a master's degree in Defense and Promotion of Human Rights from the Autonomous University of Mexico City as well as a Specialty in International Migration from the Colegio de la Frontera Norte. She has studied Critical Theory, New Latin American Constitutionalism, Children's Rights, Social Security, Human Rights, studies on Africa, Gender and Feminist Philosophy.

For 17 years Rita has been dedicated to the defense and promotion of Human Rights, in particular labor human rights and the rights of migrants and refugees in Mexico. She currently works as project coordinator in Mexico for Alianza Americas.
