Information for Graduates

Commencement Eligibility

All December and January Graduates, May candidates, and other candidates who are within eight credits of completing all requirements, assuming successful completion of spring courses, are eligible to participate in the Commencement ceremony.  If you have questions about your eligibility or requirements to graduate please contact the Registrar’s Office at [email protected]. Eligible Graduates choosing to participate in the December graduation celebration will receive information around the end of October each year.

Gowns, Caps, Graduation Announcements and Keepsake Items

Ticketing

Commencement is a ticketed event. Information about ticketing for the May Commencement ceremony will be shared early in the Spring 2024 semester.

Senior Class Gift

Macalester’s annual Senior Class Gift campaign is led by a committee of students supported by staff in the Macalester Fund office. The campaign is a longstanding tradition and encourages all seniors to give a gift to begin a lifetime of giving back in celebration of their graduation.
