College Access Campus Visits

Students in a classroom at Mac
Local youth visit a Macalester classroom as part of the College Access program.

Four offices–Admissions, Financial Aid, the Community Engagement Center, and the Department of Multicultural Life–collaborate to host campus visits for local college access programs.

More than 2,000 students in grades K-12 have come to campus for a sample class, lunch in Cafe Mac, a dorm room visit and Q & A with Mac students. Tours reinforce that college is possible and planning is important. Please email Ruth Janisch at [email protected] or Sedric McClure at [email protected] for additional information about scheduling a local youth program visit.

Individuals who will enter the admissions process soon (junior or senior year of high school) or who are interested in specific information about Macalester College are encouraged to arrange a visit through our Admissions Office. Tours of the campus with one of our volunteer student guides are offered daily Monday-Friday, year round, and on Saturday mornings during the fall semester. Please call the Admissions Office 800-231-7974  for the exact times.
