Many affected groups have set up their own crowd-sourcing donation options (i.e. Go Fund Me).<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From Alumni<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Asma Mohammed Nisami \u201814, Advocacy Director for Reviving the Islamic Sisterhood for Empowerment, frequently posts about ongoing needs and opportunities for direct service and giving throughout the Twin Cities, as well as other commentary<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/asmaresists\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/twitter.com\/asmaresists<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Matt Privratsky of Ward 4 in St. Paul, has regular updates on his <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MattPrivratsky\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Twitter feed<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> about ongoing needs, opportunities, and events with updated information and commentary.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Julian Applebaum \u201823 started a GoFundMe campaign to assist with rebuilding after property damage: <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/gf.me\/u\/s5ij67\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">gf.me\/u\/s5ij67<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Donations to Rebuild Businesses and Communities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lakestreetcouncil.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lake Street Council<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is a long-term Macalester nonprofit partner raising funds to help rebuild Lake Street businesses, many of which are family-owned by immigrants and people of color. Matt Kazinka \u201811 is the Senior Strategic Initiatives Manager. Donations are accepted <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.welovelakestreet.com\/?fbclid=IwAR27sGgAn2FclJxwBz3qf9Vmh0RS9Gamdgs7Iubh-AYl8vzSlHGgmGTbovE\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unionparkdc.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Union Park District Council<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is a longtime partner of Macalester and has been a site for Macalester\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/community-engagement\/civicleadershipprograms\/ocse\/#\/0\">Off Campus Student Employment Program<\/a> and has partnered on academic projects. Lake Street in Minneapolis works with immigrants and refugees providing free classes in ESL and work preparation.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hallieqbrown.org\/site\/index.php\/get-involved\/donate\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hallie Q. Vivian Ihekoronye \u201813 and&nbsp; Ollin Montes \u201817 are field organizers. Isaiah\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ISAIAHMN\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Facebook<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ISAIAHMN\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Twitter<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> pages link people to information, events, and actions.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.showingupforracialjustice.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Showing up for Racial Justice<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is a network of groups working to undermine white supremacy and to work toward racial justice.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.launchgood.com\/campaign\/stand_with_minneapolis_we_cant_breathe#!\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stand With Minneapolis: We Can\u2019t Breathe Fund<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&nbsp; Local, black-led, grassroots organization inspired by the life of the Prophet Muhammad, providing the North Minneapolis community with food and other essentials.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/abepmpls.org\/pimento-relief-fund\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pimento Relief Fund<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> provides relief to black businesses without insurance after white supremacists set them on fire during the protests.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Food Donations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hamlinemidway.org\/TheMidwayProject\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Midway Food &amp; Empowerment Project<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is an initiative of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hamlinemidway.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hamline-Midway Coalition<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in St. Paul, lists current opportunities for donations and direct involvement.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bethlehem-midway.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bethlehem Lutheran,<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a center of food distribution in the Midway neighborhood of St. Paul (436 Roy St.) is accepting food and financial donations and volunteer help. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Bethlehem-Lutheran-In-The-Midway-120877937925433\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Facebook page<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is updated with needs.
