Join the Next Bonner Cohort<\/h2>\n\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t

Members of the Class of 2030 who are looking for a meaningful way to get involved, build leadership skills, and become part of a close-knit community during their time at Macalester College are encouraged to apply. Bonner Scholars have the opportunity to make a real impact both on campus and in the broader Twin Cities community while developing valuable personal and professional skills along the way. <\/p>\n\t\t\t \t\t\t \t\t\t

\n\t\t\t Bonner Application<\/a>\n\t\t\t <\/div>\n\t\t\t \t\t\t<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n

Each spring, we invite all first year students to apply and select 12 new participants to form a cohort each year. First-generation college students, Minnesota residents, and students who have participated in college access programs (e.g. QuestBridge, Upward Bound, College Possible, AVID, TRIO, etc.) are strongly encouraged to apply. To be eligible for the program, participants must have student employment as part of their financial aid package and a demonstrated commitment to community engagement. Being a Bonner Scholar involves a commitment not only to service, but also to learning how to be an effective change agent for one\u2019s campus, community, and beyond. Ideal Bonner candidates are passionate about community engagement and eliminating systematic inequalities, demonstrate community involvement, embrace working in a team setting, have leadership potential, and a commitment to the Bonner mission of \u201cAccess to Education & Opportunity to Serve.\u201d
