Eligibility for technology-based or peer note-taking is determined based on documentation, the intake process and functional limitations of the student. Generally, regular and consistent class attendance is still expected and notes are intended to be supplemental in nature, not a replacement of full course content.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In some cases, a note taker may not be appropriate (e.g. courses that require review of notes as part of assessment).&nbsp; In these cases, students should inform Disability Resources early in the semester to determine alternatives.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Student\u2019s Responsibilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><b>Evaluate the course <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and if adjacent notes are required for access.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>Complete the Note-taking Form<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> each and every semester, preferably prior to the module or within the first week of class: &nbsp;<\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSdMBqhp87YRZt99MZXnDjc2zIwxTELFf5NviZrh4RVl-BROBA\/viewform?usp=sf_link\">Note-taking Form&nbsp;<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>Notify Disability Resources <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">as soon as possible if you drop a class for which you requested a note-taker, or if you decide you no longer require a note-taker.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Please <\/span><b>follow up <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">with Disability Resources if there are any concerns&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>Regularly attend class. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&nbsp;If class attendance is a significant issue, students will work with Disability Resources and the faculty to discuss other potential options. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Center for Disability Resources Responsibilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Approve eligibility for note-takers based on student\u2019s disability and functional limitations.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Recruit note-takers,&nbsp;communicate with all parties on how notes will be coordinated.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Provide information to note-takers on how to provide notes to the student in a timely way.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Work with students to resolve any problems with note-taking services in a timely way. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Note-taking accommodations are approved by the Center for Disability Resources for students who are functionally limited in the ability to take a thorough recounting of&nbsp;lectures and access can\u2019t be met in other ways.
