Professor Threinen earned his PhD from the University of Chicago in 2012. His teaching and research interests fall primarily in the field of international economics, but also include game theory and information economics. His current research examines the effects of trade policy liberalization following the creation of the WTO, and of the accession of China to that organization. Professor Threinen previously taught at the Fox School of Business at Temple University in Philadelphia and worked at the Council of Economic Advisers in Washington, D.C.
