Sally Franson is the author of the critically acclaimed novel, A Lady’s Guide to Selling Out (The Dial Press, 2018), named a “New and Notable” by Entertainment Weekly and “Best Of” by Cosmopolitan. Her short stories, essays, reportage, and humor pieces have appeared in The Guardian, Best American Travel Writing, PopSugar, The Progressive, Signature Reads, Word Riot, Witness, and many more; she is the recipient of a MacDowell Colony fellowship, an Excellence in Wisconsin Journalism award, a Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative grant, a Glimmer Train honorable mention, and has twice appeared on NPR Weekend Edition with Scott Simon. When not in the classroom, she is hard at work on her second novel.
