Working with community partner PROAL Holo-Salud to restore their greenhouse and expand their initiative to grow organic produce and medicinal plants. Their goal is to make organic produce available to local families for purchase at their town convenience store, and to expand PROAL’s medicinal plant resources, which are used to treat community members.

Puleng Moshele | maseru, Lesotho

Working with HIV orphaned and vulnerable children to open a micro poultry farming facility in their orphanage, which will be then used for income generation and, as a food source. The goal is to help the children learn to provide for themselves as a way of combating the HIV/AIDS stigmatization, which has left many of them feeling inadequate and dependent.

Shruthi Kamisetty | Bangalore, India

Using the concept of a “Self Help Group” for adolescent girls from a rural government school in the Ramagondanahalli area of Bangalore, India, to discuss sensitive issues like menstruation, puberty, and reproductive health and safety without being ashamed of the biological changes they are experiencing. She also plans to provide local help line information for the children to use in an emergency.
