1.  Filmmaker Anand Patwardham on Campus<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Anand Patwardham, one of India’s premier documentary filmmakers, will be on campus on the heels of the International Roundtable.  Patwardhan’s films explore the rise of religious fundamentalism, sectarianism, and casteism in India, while others investigate nuclear nationalist and unsustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All events are held in ArtCom 102 – Janice Wallace Fine Arts Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.  C2C Fellows Network Workshop – December 3<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The C2C Fellows Network<\/a>, offered through the Graduate Programs in Sustainability at Bard College<\/a> in New York, is an international program for undergraduates and recent graduates aspiring to leadership work in sustainable politics, NGO\u2019s and business. C2C\u2019s intensive, interactive skills-based virtual workshops<\/a> teach skills they don’t teach at university, skills to change the future.  The workshop begins at 9 am ET on Saturday, December 3, and ends at 5 pm ET.  There is no cost to attend. <\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Led by Dr. Eban Goodstein, Director of Bard\u2019s Center for Environmental Policy, C2C training focuses on key leadership skills: vision, courage, developing your network, telling your story, and raising funds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Graduates of the workshops join a national network with access to continuing educational and professional opportunities, including dedicated scholarships to attend Bard\u2019s Graduate Programs in Sustainability: Masters of Science degrees in Environmental Policy and Climate Science and Policy<\/a>, Masters of Education in Environmental Education<\/a>, and the Bard MBA in Sustainability<\/a>, the #1-ranked Green MBA in the US.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.  Caribbean Ecosystem Field Studies Course<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Ecosystem Field Studies (EcoFS) is offering a 3-credit Caribbean Ecosystem Field Studies course along the Caribbean Coast of Mexico from December 28-January 17, 2023.  EcoFS courses are a valuable complement to students’ classroom knowledge and an excellent opportunity to practice scientific field research skills. The courses are accredited for 3 undergraduate semester credits by the University of Montana at Missoula, Environmental Studies Program (ENST 391). Undergrads of any year in an ecosystem related departments\/majors are welcome to apply. There is no set deadline to apply. Review all course info at the EcoFS website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teaching Assistant<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

EcoFs is also looking for a Teaching Assistant for this 21-day, 3 undergraduate credit field course that teaches fundamental concepts in ecosystem science and skills in hands-on research methods. Caribbean EcoFS immerses students in a spectacular marine ecosystem setting and engages in active investigations that includes scientific observation, data collection, and the implementation of an individual research project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This 300-level class is open to 20 undergraduate students in an ecosystem related major from throughout the US, Canada and beyond and is accredited by the Environmental Studies Program of the University of Montana (UM). Steve Johnson, EcoFS Director is Affiliate Faculty in Environmental Studies at UM Program and serves as Instructor and the TA\u2019s direct supervisor. Pay – <\/strong>$4,000, includes all on-course expenses: meals, accommodations, activities. TA pays for airfare to\/from Cancun airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.  Science-Based Choices for Climate Action Symposium – October 24-26<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You are invited to join virtually for Science-Based Choices for Climate Action, Insights from the IPCC 6th<\/sup> Assessment Report<\/a>, October 24-26, 2022, at Dickinson College. They have a great lineup of confirmed speakers, including IPCC Chair Hoesung Lee, Ko Barrett, Debra Roberts, Fatima Denton, Andreas Fischlin, Toshihiro Hasegawa, Rachel Bezner Kerr, Linda Mearns, Lisa Schipper, Anand Patwardhan, Roberto Schaeffer, Karen Seto, Benjamin Preston, and many others.
