The <a href=\"https:\/\/engineering.oregonstate.edu\/research\/research-resources\/research-experiences-undergraduates\">Engineering for Bouncing Back Better (EB3) program<\/a> will award 10 fellowships of $7,000 per student + travel and subsistence support.  REU Program will run from June 16 to August 22, 2025. Students have to be able to attend the entire period. Application deadline: <strong>February 24, 2025<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"8\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/environmental-studies\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/599\/2012\/03\/dividerblack.gif\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.\u00a0 Internship with Citizens&#8217; Climate Lobby<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Citizens\u2019 Climate Lobby\/Citizens\u2019 Climate Education (CCL), a national nonprofit organization that builds grassroots support for climate legislation, is now recruiting students and recent graduates to join their team as interns or fellows in summer 2025. They have opportunities with a variety of different departments that may appeal to students across many disciplines. These experiences provide valuable work experience, networking opportunities, and may include academic or financial benefits. The <strong>S<\/strong>ustainable <strong>L<\/strong>and <strong>a<\/strong>nd Water <strong>R<\/strong>esources <strong>R<\/strong>esearch <strong>E<\/strong>xperience for <strong>U<\/strong>ndergraduates (SLAWR REU) is a 10-week summer program that explores the interactions between physical, natural, and social processes through the weaving of Indigenous knowledge with Western knowledge to advance scientific understanding and support tribal management decisions.\u00a0With a focus on community-based participatory research and diverse interdisciplinary research teams, students learn the key elements of land and water resources that are essential to improving management practices. Projects take place at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities; the Fond du Lac Reservation in Northern Minnesota; and Salish Kootenai College on the Flathead Reservation in Montana.\u00a0Students receive a $7000 stipend and all program-related costs (housing, food, and transportation) are covered. Students are also provided up to $1000 to share their research at a professional conference after the program is over.  New application deadline is <strong>February 9, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"8\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/environmental-studies\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/599\/2012\/03\/dividerblack.gif\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5.\u00a0 Job Opening with Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board has a temporary position open for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.governmentjobs.com\/careers\/mnparks\/classspecs\/1614058?keywords=water%20qu&amp;pagetype=classSpecifications\">Water Quality Support.<\/a> The Water Quality Support (Temp) assists in protecting and improving the lakes and streams of Minneapolis by supporting the activities of the water quality work group. The Water Quality Support position is an opportunity for individuals pursuing a career in water resources science or other related environmental field to gain experience in water quality monitoring and fieldwork. Most of this position\u2019s time will be spent outdoors participating in field monitoring or delivering samples to contracted laboratories. This position is temporary with an expected duration from approximately June through August. Some potential exists for a pre-June start date and\/or work through October (not to exceed 6 months). Work hours are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, from 7:30 am-4:00 pm, with some days 7:00 am-3:30 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"8\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/environmental-studies\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/599\/2012\/03\/dividerblack.gif\"><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6.\u00a0 Internship with the North Fork Crow River Watershed District<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The North Fork Crow River Watershed District is accepting applications to fill the position of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfcrwd.org\/index.asp?SEC=FA1D53CD-A387-493F-8904-A5F4730C1072&amp;Type=B_JOB\">Seasonal Intern<\/a>. This is a paid, part-time or full-time position for the summer of 2025. Preferred candidates will be college students studying environmental-related subjects.  Resumes, cover letters, and applications should be sent by <strong>Friday, March 14, 2025<\/strong>. Interns will work up to 40 hours a week with flexible employment dates, dependent on successful applicant availability.
