Dan has spent a number of years researching freshwater mussel populations in the St. Croix River, a National Wild and Scenic River and is now working on the Minnesota River that some environmental groups have labeled as one of the most polluted rivers in the nation.\u00a0 He works jointly with Prof. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/geology\/facultystaff\/kellymacgregor\/\">Kelly MacGregor<\/a> in the Geology Department.
