{"id":234,"date":"2017-11-14T06:26:35","date_gmt":"2017-11-14T06:26:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/160-epag\/home\/"},"modified":"2026-04-17T16:27:16","modified_gmt":"2026-04-17T16:27:16","slug":"home-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/epag\/","title":{"rendered":"Educational Policy and Governance"},"content":{"rendered":"<section class=\"introduction block-container\" >\n    <div class=\"introduction__content\">\n    \t        \t<p class=\"introduction__copy\">The Educational Policy and Governance Committee consists of seven faculty members plus two student members and the following non-voting ex officio members: the Registrar, the Director of Academic Programs, the Library Director, and the Dean of the Faculty. For four of the faculty positions, representation will come from the four divisions of the College, and the other three faculty representatives will be elected at-large. Election to EPAG is for a three-year term. <\/p>\n    \t    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<p>EPAG focuses on strategic planning and evaluation and refinement of the College\u2019s education policy and shared governance structure. Primary duties include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Initiating or encouraging studies which will aid college leadership in the formulation of educational policies and long-range plans designed to promote the fuller realization of the objectives of the College&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advising on the College calendar and class schedules<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Serving as the rules committee of the faculty, interpreting the Constitution and By-Laws to the faculty, and bringing revisions in these documents to the faculty for action<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advising the Provost and the Dean of the Faculty concerning requests for the allocation of tenure track faculty positions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2025-2026 MEMBERS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h5
