Your eligibility to borrow a Perkins Loan and the amount of the loan are determined by Macalester. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perkins Loans are originated and administered by Macalester.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further information about Federal Perkins Loans:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Awarded to the neediest financial aid applicants.<\/li><li>No credit check required.<\/li><li>No payments are required while half-time enrollment is maintained.<\/li><li>Payments begin nine months following graduation or withdrawal from Macalester.<\/li><li>No interest accrues while you are enrolled.<\/li><li>Interest rate during repayment is fixed at 5%.<\/li><li>Standard repayment period is ten years.<\/li><li>Federal Perkins Loan promissory notes will be signed in person during the early part of the fall semester.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Steps to securing your Federal Perkins Loan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Accept all or part of your Federal Perkins Loan on <a href=\"https:\/\/1600grand.macalester.edu\">1600grand.macalester.edu<\/a> (under the Money Matters tab).<\/li><li>Complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macalester.edu\/studentaccounts\/forms\/PerkinsLoanApplication.pdf\">Perkins Loan Application.<\/a><\/li><li>Attend an <a href=\"\/studentaccounts\/loans\/\">Entrance Interview and Perkins Loan Promissory Note Signing Session.<\/a><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some financial aid packages include Federal Perkins Loans.
