The great religious work projects contributed to the revival of trades and to the new institutions of medieval towns. Not the least of these was the University of Paris, which grew out of the cathedral school of Notre-Dame in the second half of the twelfth century. He is considered one of the pioneers of Haitian<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cinema. During the Duvalier dictatorship, he lived in exile in Venezuela between 1973 and 1986. Upon returning to Haiti,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>he created a cultural center where he trains young filmmakers, the Centre Simon Bolivar. His films have received several<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>awards at the International African Film Festival of FESPACO. In 2002 he received the Djibril Diop Manb\u00e9ty Prize for his<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>documentary&nbsp;on Courage de femmes, Courageous Women at the Cannes Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Thus Spoke the Sea, the sea tells its story along with the Haitian people.&nbsp;It reveals its riches, its secrets, and it invites us<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>to listen&nbsp;to the consequences of climate change in the most poetic way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s listen to it.
