Since 1993, Andrea Myklebust and Stanton Sears have collaborated to create sculptural works at more than 40 sites across the United States. These large-scale public works are designed with extensive input from stakeholder communities. Through thoughtful use of form and relevant iconography, they reflect and honor the natural and cultural histories of their surroundings.

Myklebust and Sears have designed figurative works, terrazzo floors, railings, columns, benches, fountains, bas-relief friezes and a 63-foot-tall bell tower. The sculptures have included elements made from glass, steel, aluminum, limestone, granite, slate, bronze or wood, depending on the needs and parameters of the project.

The physical scale and site-specific nature of these works make it impossible to stage an exhibition of the finished sculptures. Our exhibition, Working: Myklebust + Sears, is an effort to look behind the scenes at the methods and considerations that make these remarkable works possible.
