Macalester Geography Award for Excellence of Scholarship<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Award for Excellence of Scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding senior majoring in geography.  Criteria used in identifying nominees include: academic performance, GTU membership and participation, departmental service, dedication, and enthusiasm. The recipient receives a book selected especially for them by the department faculty and a $200 prize.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hildegard Binder Johnson Award in Geography<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Named after the distinguished founder of the Macalester College Geography Department, Hildegard Binder Johnson. Presented to academically outstanding junior Geography majors. The recipients each receive a $200 prize.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

David A. Lanegran Award in Geography<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Named after the department\u2019s longest serving faculty member, presented annually to senior geography majors in recognition of their significant contributions to the community life of the department. The recipients receive a book selected especially for them by the department faculty.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
