As Study Away Finance and Data Specialist, I serve Macalester students as primary contact for the billing, financial, and insurance arrangements related to Study Away, and as lead in advising for a subset of Macalester Approved Study Away programs, including the majority of the direct enroll programs. <\/p>\n
My academic background and personal passion is in medieval art history, earning both my BA and MA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I first studied abroad in Northumbria on the border of England and Scotland, as an undergraduate, where I became captivated with the life and energy I discovered in ancient ruins and medieval architecture. Over the last fifteen years, I have had the privilege of co-leading medieval history, art & architecture short-term study away programs throughout the UK and elsewhere in western Europe with a senior faculty member at UW-Madison.<\/p>\n
Prior to joining Macalester in 2015, I worked many years in multiple administrative and academic capacities within the University of WI system, always finding my direct interactions with students the most rewarding of all experiences. I initially moved to Saint Paul to live near our young grandchildren, and I am now thrilled to also be a member of Macalester’s study away team and active community. In my personal time, I enjoy sewing, reading, spending time with friends and family, and exploring all the fabulous sites and restaurants throughout the twin cities.<\/p>\n
