Cali Mellin

DoJ OVW Project Director

Cali serves as the Project Director for the Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women grant awarded to Macalester in 2021. She has a background in both violence prevention on a college campus and legal advocacy for victims/survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Cali received her master’s degree in English from the University of St. Thomas in 2020; her thesis focused on systemic gender-based violence at the US-Mexico border and waves of activism that have arisen as a response. Her work is grounded in the belief that everyone deserves to live in a community free from violence.
She was born and raised in Saint Paul, and continues to live there now with two Macalester alumni and the two cutest cats alive (she has yet to see proof to the contrary).
