Mary Onchiri, BA, BS

Mary Onchiri is a counseling intern from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and is pursuing her Masters of Public Health and Masters of Social Work. She received a B.S. in Family Social Science and a B.A. in Psychology also from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Her work experience thus far has included project coordinator duties for the School of Public Health University of Minnesota, student advocacy in student affairs also at the University of Minnesota, mental health treatment and assessment with youth, and an internship abroad in Ecuador. Mary is dedicated to cultivating a non-judgmental environment that empowers students to embrace and live their most authentic lives.  She aspires to infuse the therapy space with a blend of warmth, transparency, and compassion. Mary identifies as a mixed-race (Kenyan and white), cis-woman. Mary is from Minneapolis and currently lives in the east metro with her son, their cat Rosa Parks, and their fearlessly bold hound-mix, Ruby Bridges.
