Community Health Resources

Sometimes, you may need to access off-campus health resources even when the Hamre Center is open.  In providing these resources, our is to make you aware of possible resources in the community that may be helpful. This list is not comprehensive of all available resources, and we do not endorse any of the following services as the right option for any specific individual.

Medical Community Resources

Primary care care clinics are similar to the Hamre Center in scope of services they provide. You may choose to schedule with a primary clinic off campus for many reasons such as better insurance coverage, time and availability to schedule appointments, or they may have labs, procedures, or imaging (such as X-ray) available that Hamre Center does not.

Here are some links to local clinics that accept the Macalester-offered United Healthcare Student Resources insurance.

Mental Health Community Resources

We’re excited to partner with MiResource to help Macalester students easily and confidentially find the right off campus provider.

When you get to the map, you can search by your specific care needs, insurance/payment options, and geography. You can also type Macalester College into the location box to find providers in our area, that we work with more regularly.  In each provider profile, if the provider was invited and logged in through Macalester it will show their affiliation with us at the bottom of their profile.

The clinical providers participating in this referral database supply their own information about their services. The Hamre Center cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the information provided. The Hamre Center is unable to endorse any particular clinical provider that is listed. It is important to verify fees and that the selected provider is in-network with your insurance prior to your appointment.
