Because We Are Not Alone

This is a support group for Macalester students of any gender who have experienced sexual assault (sexual abuse, rape, and other forms of non-consensual contact). This group provides support to facilitate healing and coping. Facilitated by Liz Schneider-Bateman and Jan Beebe.

Coping With Anxiety: Essential Anxiety Management Skills

A 4-session skill-building group designed to help students reduce their anxiety. Participants will better understand anxiety and practice anxiety management tools like breathing and meditation, cognitive and emotional self-awareness, and lifestyle choices. Led by Mia Nosanow.

Grief & Loss Support

This group is for students grieving the loss of a loved one, sibling, parent, relative, or close friend. Participants can process and heal in an atmosphere of understanding, community, and mutual support. Facilitated by Off-Campus therapist Analisa Jayasekera, Sponsored by Center for Health and Wellness.

Cultivating Calm: Koru Mindfulness and Meditation

Group Description
A 4-session evidence-based group designed specifically for college students.  Learn mindfulness and meditation that helps students stay calmer under stress, become more mindful, gain better sleep and increase self-compassion.  Led by Mia Nosanow and Maren Starzinski.

Healthy Relationships

Group Description
Whether an intimate partner relationship, friendship, parent/guardian-child or roommate, relationships can be both helpful and hurtful. In this 6–session group we will explore how to build healthy relationships and the importance of being in relationship for our health and wellness. All relationships welcome. Led by Julia Hutchinson.
