Markim Hall, 207
As the Assistant Director for the Center for Study Away, I collaborate with a team of advisors to support students in seeking out and making the most of a variety of study away opportunities. More specifically, I organize returnee-programming, review and assess programming options, and coordinate student learning assessment. I also oversee the daily operations of the office and support faculty in developing and coordinating study away programming.
I came to Macalester in 2013 with a passion for exploring the world, in constant pursuit of being surprised by people, places and ideas. My first study abroad experience in France and Spain was followed up by a semester in Chile, extensive travel throughout Central and South America, Thailand, Cambodia, and much of the United States. I have worked as an international and intercultural educator since 2009, with experience in assessment, program development, global service-learning, student leadership, advising for and leading study abroad programming, and guiding students in finding meaning in their life and work. I earned my BA in International Relations and Spanish from St. Cloud State University and my MA in Comparative and International Development Education from the University of Minnesota.
My passion is travel, whenever and however I can manage. In and around home, I enjoy reading, running with my dog, yoga, anything outdoors, eating new foods…
