Aaron directs Macalester College International Student Programs (ISP) Department, which consists of four professional staff, and 26 student staff. ISP is collectively responsible for 300+ international students on nonimmigrant visas as well as 70-80 recent alumni employed in the US. He counsels and advises international students on academic, cultural and government regulatory matters; is an advisor to cultural organizations; spearheads the Pre-Orientation for International Students (PO4IS), International Student Mentor Program and Ametrica Project; and is part of Macalester’s Crisis Response Team (CRT). He has worked at Macalester since 1998. Previously, he worked for the Savannah College of Art and Design, the Malaysian-American Commission on Educational Exchange (MACEE) in Penang, and has taught English in both the US and Japan. He has held leadership positions as the Secretary-Treasurer for the Georgia Association of International Educators; twice Chair of the Minnesota International Educators; two years the Minnesota State Representative for NAFSA–the Association of International Educators; and five years as the NAFSA’s Minnesota State Immigration Representative. He has had sojourns through work or study in Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia and the UK, and has traveled to over forty countries.

Aaron holds a Bachelor of Art’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Master of Intercultural Administration focusing on International Education from the School for International Training.
