We are your first contact for help with your technology questions. ITS provides project management, systems consulting, software implementation and maintenance, software systems management services, database management and data management and reporting. We also manage, design, and plan the network, the telecommunications system, the central servers, information security architecture and services.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

\n \n Wifi \u2013 eduroam\n <\/a>\n \n <\/h3>\n

You don\u2019t have to be on campus to use eduroam\u2019s configuration assistant tool to install and enable the service before arriving at Macalester or traveling to other campuses from around the world. Visitors who do not have a Macalester account or are not from eduroam-participating institutions may use Macalester Guest<\/a> to connect to wireless.<\/p>\n \n

\n \n Student Computers\n <\/a>\n \n <\/h3>\n

We strongly recommend students bring their own laptop to campus and follow our base-line laptop recommendations. Apple and Dell offer discounts for education purchases. Macalester\u2019s Emergency Aid Program can provide assistance to students as well.<\/p>\n \n

\n \n Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)\n <\/a>\n \n <\/h3>\n

All students, faculty and staff are required to use 2-factor authentication for 1600grand and Google accounts. It\u2019s easier than you think for someone to steal your password, 2-factor authentication can help keep cybercriminals out, even if they have your password. Securely log into an account with 2 things: 1) something you know (your password) and 2) something you have (your phone). <\/p>\n \n
